Lighthouse in Lockdown
While lockdown has been a challenge for everyone, the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity have been working with some of the hardest hit in our industry. Lighthouse is the only charity that provides financial and emotional support to the construction community and their families in times of need. They provide:
· 24/7 Construction Industry Hotline
· Emergency financial support
· Advice on welfare and mental wellbeing
· Support on legal, tax and debt management matters
· Education and training initiatives
Compared to this time last year, calls to their helpline are up by over 55% while their usual fundraising efforts are on hold during lockdown. A staggering £320,031 has been raised so far by the construction industry in response to this growing need.
At Sapphire we live up to our value of Innovation to Prosper the Community particularly during times like these. Throughout Q2 we have raised £3,840 in support of both the Lighthouse charity and NHS Charities Together through fundraising quizzes, our daily marathon challenge and by donating for every virtual event attendee!
Our support is continuing in Q3 and you can help, for every one of our free virtual events you attend live we’ll donate £1. We’ve hosted a range of virtual Lockdown Learning events covering topics from the external envelope to MMC and the use of digital tools in construction.
