Glide-On Cassette balconies: over 30 installed in a day

Although a lot more elegant, it’s like a fork lift lifting a pallet, it’s that simple.

The first part is the bracket connection to the  building structure, each with arms protruding from the façade. Read more about Glide-On Connections

The balcony Cassette® frame is a deck made with oversized holes to receive the arms when craned into position. Each Cassette® is delivered preassembled and factory finished. Read more about balcony structures

The third part is the balustrade, forming a perimeter guard around the balcony. Whether frameless structural glass, vertical bars, etc. Read more about balcony balustrading

Balcony Fires: Learning from the Past

In order to better understand the protective effect of soffits on the balcony in the event of fire, Sapphire have recently commissioned some fire testing at the Exova test centre in Warrington. For one of these tests, a full size balcony Cassette® was constructed to fit the furnace size. This was fitted with class C decking (the least non-combustible product currently used by Sapphire), and a variety of soffit panels were fitted so the relative effect of these could be monitored.
