What is a Juliette/Juliet balcony?

A Juliet balcony is essentially a balcony consisting of a balustrade connection to the building facade without a deck to walk on; not, as many assume, a glass balcony.

Made famous by Shakespeare, made perfect by Sapphire, the Juliet (or Juliette) is a specialist balcony commonly used to protect openings such as French doors on an upper floor of a residential development. Sometimes specified where a full, walk-on balcony isn’t practical for design or budgetary reasons, the Juliet version offers an effective way to create an open, outdoor feel to an indoor space in an apartment, for example.

We only supply Juliet balconies as part of larger projects as they are technically only a balustrade in front of a door. We offer a large range of balustrade options for modular balconies such as frameless structural glass, vertical bar, solid walls, privacy screens and perforated panels.

Our previous balustrade ranges and registered balustrade designs are now provided through Regal Balustrades. All our registered designs are offered by Regal. We still offer guidance and design detail for the balustrades.

We are fully focused on providing factory finished modular balconies. These are best suited to projects with 30 or more large balconies with an element of repetition and with simple façade interface details which do not hinder the balconies being craned into position at the end of the project.
